Some things you should know before ordering fabric,
We do not accept returns on fabric. If you are unsure about a particular fabric or color choice, we suggest you order a swatch card before making your fabric purchase. Please inspected fabric carefully prior to use, as no claims are accepted on cut goods.
There is a minimum order of four yards for each kind (i.e. one color of one fabric) of fabric you order.
A quantity discount of 25% will be automatically applied to orders greater than 22 yards of one kind (e.g. Polylin in taupe) of fabric.
Different fabrics have different piece sizes. If you were to order 30 yards of Napoli Vintage, you would probably receive one bolt but with two cuts, one of 27 yards and one of 3 yards. 27 yards is the longest piece size of that quality due to its heavy weight. Please communicate with us by phone (617-354-5700) or email with any specific requirements you may have and we'll do our best to get you the piece sizes you require.
We do not do CFAs (cutting for approval), which many designers/customers may expect. Libeco mills are unable to store bolts to wait to hear back if the CFA was approved.
Libeco Home dye lots have very good consistency in general, but the flax plant is natural, so a variance of a greyer or a yellower tone can be expected. There is an industry system that we refer to for variances; up to a 1.25 delta deviance for natural fibers. Libeco Home fabric will always be under that deviation. A variance is most prevalent in our non-dyed goods, such as "Flax" and "Eco-Dark."
Libeco Home fabrics are mostly in wide widths, so please take care to calculate how many square yards of fabric you need and how many you are ordering. For example, the Corsica fabric is 110 inches wide. A normal roll of regular width fabric is 55 inches. So, if you would normally order 12 yards of fabric, you may only have to order 6 yards of Corsica. If ordering fabric for a project that you've hired an upholsterer, seamstress, or designer for, please communicate with them where necessary to determine the square footage required, and with us to make sure you get what you need.
Most fabric is shipped via UPS ground. An order of 4 yards of a fabric would probably arrive folded in a box. An order of 15 yards would probably be folded in half, rolled, and shipped in a tube. An exception is Fjord linen, which must be sent without a fold because a permanent crease can form in such a lightweight fabric if it's folded and rolled. At 118 inches in width, be prepared for a very long roll when ordering Fjord fabric. Please communicate any specific shipping requirements you may have. |
